Trick Or Treating

Well Halloween is drawing near. So I guess the big question is where to take the kids this year. Do I want a busy place that will give out lots of candy or a small event that is not too overwhelming? And it might rain, so does indoors sound nicer then outdoors?
Last year we went to the mall and walked around with the kids. Since my kids are little it is easy to do something little that is exciting for them. We dressed them up and made the trek around to all the stores. I was amazed how many people there were by the time we left and how much candy we collected. There was plenty to share with mom and dad :)
Well here's a few events I have come across in the area.

Haller Lake Community Club
This is a fun event where kids can come dressed up in their costumes, play games, and do crafts. And of course they get to collect candy. Last year they served pizza and drinks for a few dollars. Haven't heard yet if they are doing this again.

Seattle Malls
Some of the malls around Seattle will have candy to hand out. This is a great place to take your kids on Halloween if you don't want to walk the dark neighborhoods around the city. There is plenty of candy and most places are indoors (which is great if it rains :) Come early though if you want to avoid the crowds. Sometimes the stores will start handing out candy even before the event begins.

Why Another Blog?

Okay, so I guess anyone who stumbles across this blog probably is thinking "why another blog about things happening in Seattle?" This is the same question I asked myself over and over again when friends kept telling me that I need to blog all the exciting things I do with my kids. Somehow I seem to be the one who knows about all the deals and events going on in the city. Maybe it's because I love a good bargain. Maybe it's because we moved here a year ago and I am excited to explore a new city. Or it could be the fact that I love doing research. But what ever the reason is people are constantly amazed at how much I know.
So here's a little blog I started about things to do in Seattle. I will include fun activities to do with kids (especially the free ones :) Fun events that happen seasonly. And good deals and sales happening around town. I love shopping but hate paying full price. So yes I am going to give away my secrets on how to find shirts at Gymboree for $1.24 each. Because who can afford to pay more for your kids clothes then for your own?
So there it is, the reason why I am starting yet another blog about things to do in Seattle. So stop by periodically and check out what is happening around town :)
